本周我們學(xué)習(xí)和二手產(chǎn)品相關(guān)的詞匯

1. second-hand

adj. 二手的;用過的;舊的

e.g. I often buy second-hand clothes online to save money.

e.g. The website specializes in second-hand goods.

adj. (故事、觀點(diǎn)、信息)第二手的，間接的，非親身經(jīng)歷的

e.g. I only know this from second-hand information, so I can't be sure it's true.

adv. 以間接/二手的方式；

搭配：buy/ get something second-hand

搭配：experience something second-hand

e.g. She buys all her clothes second-hand.

e.g. He experienced the trauma second-hand through his partner's stories.

2. refurbished /r??f?b??t/

adj. 翻新的

e.g. I recently bought a refurbished smartphone online. It was much cheaper than a new one, but it works just as well.

e.g. Buying refurbished phones helps reduce electronic waste, which is a serious environmental issue nowadays.

e.g. Refurbished phones are usually much cheaper than brand-new ones.

補(bǔ)充：brand-new 全新的

其他不同的產(chǎn)品新舊度：

like new 幾乎全新的

gently/ slightly used 輕微使用過的

heavily used 使用頻繁的

worn 磨損的

3. wear /we?/

v. 磨損;用舊；

搭配：wear out 磨損;用壞

wear thin 變薄/用舊

e.g. Even well-maintained devices will eventually wear out due to constant use.

e.g. The fabric on this jacket is starting to wear thin.

習(xí)語補(bǔ)充：patience wears thin 耐心耗盡

e.g. I find my patience wears thin when dealing with slow internet connections.

n. wear 磨損;損壞；

搭配：wear and tear 磨損

show signs of wear 有磨損跡象

e.g. The couch is still usable, but it shows signs of wear.

e.g. Some people avoid buying used items because of concerns over wear and tear.

4. hand-me-downs

n. 二手的；別人用過的[尤用于服裝]

e.g. When I was a child, most of my clothes were hand-me-downs from my older sister.

e.g. Some people feel embarrassed wearing hand-me-downs, but I think it’s practical and eco-friendly.
